Landgoed de Leijen stands for peace, space and plenty of greenery. Explore the facilities and surroundings. For example, there are two playgrounds and plenty to do for adults too. The picturesque Hensbroek is a good base to explore North Holland.
Facilities on the Leijen estate
The estate offers plenty of entertainment with:
- two playgrounds with swings, slides and a cableway. One is near the group accommodation and the other is near the safari tents.
- a football pitch.
- a boules court.
- a table tennis table.
You can also play a game of farmer's golf with us. There is a brazier in front of the safari tents and a large barbecue in front of the group accommodation.
On the Estate is a spacious pond. Koi carp swim in it. Would you like to see them? Then come in the evening when we feed them.
Just a two-minute walk away is a beautiful recreational lake, perfect for swimming or a leisurely stroll along the water's edge.

Looking for activities to do? We are happy to share our tips with you. Think about:
- A fully catered wine tasting evening with snacks, bookable through us
- Paddle surfing (supping) through the polder
- Bike rental, including mountain bike, electric and cargo bike
- Mountain bike trail in Geestmerambacht or Schoorl
- BBQ workshop on location
Or consider, for example, the Zuiderzee Museum, the Zaanse Schans, Blankendaell zoo, Fairytale Wonderland, Broekerveiling, the sea aquarium and the museum steam tram.
Explore the surroundings
There is also plenty to do in the surrounding area. Within 20 minutes you can drive to the characteristic North Holland cities of Alkmaar and Hoorn, known for their historic town centres, canals and cosy terraces. Between these cities you will find the Eilandspolder, a beautiful nature reserve where you can hire an electric boat and peacefully sail through picturesque polders. For those who like to be active, there are plenty of opportunities for a sporty mountain bike ride or a relaxing forest walk in Schoorl, with its famous dunes.
Also visit the fishing village of Volendam, with its traditional costumes, cosy harbour and fresh fish restaurants. Take a trip to the idyllic peninsula of Marken, where you stroll through picturesque streets and admire historic wooden houses.
